No, this is not a story about what you might expect.  This is about a Peap Show or, maybe a Peop Show?
It started a couple of weeks ago when I woke up in the middle of the night … by what ??  … a vague but irritating sound … a sound like “peep-peep-peep…” In the beginning I didn’t spend too much time on it, but. … I continued waking up … “Peep! Peap ?! Peop @&”.

A couple of times I woke my wife but she was too drowsy to help me (“Take another beer, Joe., I need my beauty sleep ….”)

Last Monday I woke up again by this strange sound … I silently slipped out-of my bed and listened … listened … trying to locate the source of this peeping …. mice? No … I had checked so many times before but all my mice were there, where I left them.

Rats ? Impossible, Conan and Red Sonja, our two cats, would have made dead meat out-of them.

What else? I silently sat down in the corner of my sleeping room … waiting … trying to locate the source of this peeping …
At 6:13 AM I found out that that the sound was coming from behind our clothing cupboard. I moved this 1000++ tons furniture a couple of inches from the wall …and spotted a hole … My wife only turned around in her bed … mumbling  “… Joey, not now darling …”.

The next night I was prepared. I waited till 3:00 AM? 4:00 AM? When I heard that irritating “peap!” again I slid out-of my bed …  carefully …. and shot a number of pictures with my dear father’s camera equipment.

Only one picture that I made was acceptable ….

What is this? How can I chase away, even destroy, this button-nose-creature ??? I am so tired!

This afternoon I have installed Internet Explorer 9 ( NINE , the IE Diamond Version ), released at 12:03 PM, March 19, 2009, available to Windows Live Space web site owners only.
What can I (and am I  allowed to ) tell you … well … IE9 is fabulous, extremely fast (almost as fast as IE2, the “Atari killer!”) , black & white colors only (for the time being, of course) but very, very … “sweet” …. having these HUGE *MS-DOS* TEXT BUTTONS and  those cleverly hidden registry tweaks for freaks! (I will publish more about them later!). 
Tip: Be prepared to reboot your workstation every 10-12 minutes but …enjoy these minutes of heavenly web browsing!

I was one of the IE9 Carefully Selected Home Premium Beta Dumb Testers, have spent many, many nightly hours writing bug reports, of which some (two: 2) were fixed indeed in today’s DIAMOND version.

After the installation, which took only 94 minutes, I only noticed one new bug that I completely overlooked during testing:  “web pages rendered by IE9 are flickering and the PC creates an ultrasonic high pitch, making people nauseous and giving them a terrible headache”, … no other problems (yet)!

A real recommendation: IE9!

Life is weird, extremely weird and even scaring when you are in a not too good condition.
Everything we see … hear … smell … touch … think …  even love or despise … is  processed in our minds …filtered …. censored … transformed without us being aware of this.

I am wondering … what is really happening around us, around me ... what would we see when we were like babies again,  fresh, open minded … and without fear …

I dream about this, I longer to be an innocent  child again, and I weep because I know what will happen … for sure.

Before my great-great-grandparents were born, there lived a beautiful princess in the South of Fairyland.
This princess was so beautiful that she didn’t even need a name, she was just She.
But, with all her beauty  She became more and more vain, making inappropriate jokes of people around her, insulting her family and ridiculing her lovers. From all over the world young men came to visit her, hoping to be the Real One.

But She liked her life too much and rejected them all (keeping the expensive gifts they brought her …).
Not only real men fell in lover with her whenever they spotted her, but also the enchanted men, transformed into snakes, dragons and frogs by witches and supernatural super-angry-enough-is-enough wives.

One summer night when She was deep asleep, a little green frog entered her sleeping room through an open window, hopped onto her bed … crawled to her face … and … Kissed Her !.

She woke up with a shock, wanted to scream but could only make some quaking noises. “Lets go home, darling, I am so thrilled to introduce you to my family” her happy green husband quaked to her. “Son, meet your new mom” …

Now … how  many times the most ugly, cruel news of the last X years you witnessed was caused by the first or the second group of names you have heard.  Take some time to get aware of this … do you see? do you, really see?? What can we do about this?

No real nightmares but … puzzling dreams, alarming dreams, unanswered questions, thoughts trying to find a solution … for what ??
The sweet wooden girl keeps haunting me, keeps looking at me with her sad, hollow eyes and whispers in my ears “… why?? …”
What tragedy is hiding behind this damaged face, what can I do to easy her pain?

Are you suffering from insomnia, amnesia or melancholia?  Stop suffering now!
I know what you have experienced (I think) and I have found some very useful solutions to make your life more agreeable.

Today’s Tip (1) is about your sleeping environment.
Last year, August, September, somewhere there, I had an extremely difficult time to get my 5 hours daily sleep. I went to bed very early, even around 16:15 in the afternoon, but still, I couldn’t sleep although I was exhausted. The SOLUTION was brought to me by my dear brother Jack (thanks, Bro!):

Lesson One (1)

(1) Remove all the blankets and sheets from your bed
(2) Lift you mattress
(3) Remove all the things that don’t belong in a bed
(4) Make your bed and experience that 5(+)-day-sleep-miracle (“Who cares that you will be fired! you are a rested, relaxed person after so many years!”)

Here are the thingies I found under my mattress:

When I detected these things, Mrs. D started to laugh loudly and made *&^&* jokes about me.
I am a gentleman so I  reacted in a very ‘cool’ way. I lifted her mattress too and found …. this ….(?!?) …
That was enough to make her stop (and give the two of us an unforgettable weekend)
